Morning Prayer
Each day I pray for the pacification of all national difficulties, for the brotherhood of man, for the end of idolatry and infidelity, and for the growth and establishment of Christian religion — Christ’s Christianity. I also have faith that my prayer availeth, and that He who is overturning will overturn until He whose right it is shall reign. Each day I pray: “God bless my enemies; make them Thy friends; give them to know the joy and the peace of love.”
from Miscellany, by Mary Baker Eddy, page 220
What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have. This sweet assurance is the “Peace, be still” to all human fears, to suffering of every sort.

Daily Watch
157 — WATCH lest, as you replenish the fire of spiritual confidence and expectancy, which gives your declarations of Truth their efficacy and power, you believe the arguments heal. They do open the way for Truth to heal, and in that sense they are like the wood that keeps a fire burning. But it is the fire that throws forth the heat, and not the wood that one gathers to feed it.
Once Mrs. Eddy wrote to a member of the Board of Directors, “Persevere, and if the fire burns low or appears to be getting extinguished, replenish it with faith and love. Never lose its light on the altar of Christian Science, and never cease to watch, work, pray.”

The Healing of the Nations by William D. McCrackan
The definition of Faith from the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary
Take this thought and carry it with you. God is Spirit. I am His child, made in His image and likeness. Jesus’ teachings will restore to me that which I seem to have lost — the likeness of my Father.

Golden Text: Revelation 19 : 1
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God.”
Responsive Reading: Revelation 19 : 11-16
11. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
We are sons of the King of kings and the Lord of lords by Julia Field King
Unless you fully perceive that you are the child of God, hence perfect, you have no Principle to demonstrate and no rule for its demonstration.
from Miscellaneous Writings, by Mary Baker Eddy, page 242
6. John 15 : 5
5 … for without me ye can do nothing.
6. 53
He rebuked sinners pointedly and unflinchingly, because he was their friend; hence the cup he drank.
Work every day to know that the belief of impossibility has no power over you. Know that it cannot possibly affect you in any way, and can never for an instant hinder your demonstration, whether you are working for health, peace, joy, or any mental quality, thing or experience. Know that you are conscious of the possibility and realization of all that is good and true. (page 46)
Things to handle daily by Mary Baker Eddy
1. 180 : 25-30
When man is governed by God, the ever-present Mind who understands all things, man knows that with God all things are possible. The only way to this living Truth, which heals the sick, is found in the Science of divine Mind as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.
Where all students have failed, is in not knowing how to handle animal magnetism. If we don’t break the belief that mesmerism has power, we are still the victims of mesmerism, and it is handling us. Now then, the main point is to keep your watch. Matt. 26:40 & 24:43. If you stay here, until you learn to handle animal magnetism, I will make healers out of you. I had to do it, and did it for forty years, and you must do it. You must rise to the point where you can destroy the belief in mesmerism, or you will have no Cause. It tried to overcome me for forty years and I withstood it all.
from Watches, Prayers, and Arguments, as given by Mary Baker Eddy, pages 27 to 28
Study the Bible constantly, daily, and, dear one, pray. Ask the divine Love every day to give you all that the Lord’s Prayer inculcates. Go alone by yourself one half hour every morning and ask God, good, “Thy kingdom come” – ask to establish the reign of honesty, peace and purity in your consciousness and to overthrow and cast out all that is unlike the Christ, Love. Ask to forgive those that wrong you, even as God forgives you, and see how this must be for you to reflect God. Ask for deliverance from temptation, ask for patience, meekness, peace, and so may the grace of God be with you. (page 180)
Things to handle daily by Mary Baker Eddy
The Lord’s Prayer is a statement of the perfection of Being. It reveals the spiritual nature of God and man—the tender relationship of God and man; it teaches us of the al-mighty power of God and the utter impotence of evil; it assures us of man’s immunity from sin, disease and death; it enables us to rest in the omnipresence of all good, of Love itself, and convinces us that the kingdom of God is our only realm.

Submitted by Dale W. from VA:
I’m very grateful for the instruction in this Independent church to acknowledge God as All-in-all, and to know our Oneness with Him.
In the Feb 25, 2025 Unity Watch from Leaves of Healing by Peter V. Ross, it began by stating: “I am of that Life which never began, will never fail, will never end….I am interknit with Principle. I share its power, its wisdom, its achievement. I and Principle are one. Nothing is impossible to a man of Principle.”
And Mary Baker Eddy says in “A Treatment for Every Day” to “…realize this truth of truths, that you are now, not will be perfect in God, without a single doubt….however difficult it may seem, to declare times without number, that you are perfect, joyful, triumphant and complete.”
Every morning I say I am perfect, because I am a reflection of God; I am joyful, knowing God is All — there is nothing to fear or be down about; I am triumphant, because God has all power and is all presence and I am one with Him; and I am complete, because God’s creation is done and declared very good (Genesis 1:31).
Final Readings
Age
Let us now enjoy the spiritual freedom which our Life includes. Take, for instance, the belief of age with its self–imposed characteristics of inability, resignation, limitation. Such an attitude is permanently at variance with the unbroken continuity of scientific Being. The metaphysician will never bow his head to the bondage inflicted by the mythical beliefs attributed to accumulated years. Age is merely a state of suppositional acceptance of a life unlike God. Such a misconception, needless to say, in no way refers to us. Age is a preposterous belief which never had the slightest place in the timeless Life of God and man.
We are divine Mind’s evidence of perpetual loveliness, freshness, continuity—all evident as the fulness of vigour, energy, strength and vivacity. I quote Miscellaneous Writings (p. 101): “The scientific sense of being which establishes harmony, enters into no compromise with finiteness and feebleness.”
Our Leader speaks also of “the charms of being, shining resplendent and eternal” (Science and Health, p. 247), and of course these charms of Being are what you are. Job said (11:17): “And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.” We acknowledge no measurement of the mythical threescore years and ten.
Our glorious Life is the glory to which Jesus referred when he said: “Glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was” (John 17:5). What complete renunciation of the mortal sense of life, and acknowledgment of his true Being!
“Glorify thou me with thine own self”—not a self like thine, but thine own self, the one Self. Man is the very selfhood of God, the changeless glory of immortality, untouched by time. This glory appears as your continuous, limitless capacities. This selfhood is wisdom, beauty and holiness, untinged by time. The ignorant assessment of man as mortal is lost in the brightness of divine Life’s permanent evidence of its bliss and its grandeur. Age is not a condition, but a totally false sense of existence, which is neither God nor man but merely an audacious fabrication of mortal beliefs. Our Life retains its every divine quality and condition in flawless evidence. Strength, vigour, energy, sagacity are divine Mind, always in full evidence. In brief, age is outshone by the brightness of His glory. You are free!
